Co-creating with Nature
🌷🐝 We start July by announcing our new environmental sustainability consultancy services, our collaboration with artist residency and gallery PADA, and our new blog article by Jule Kurbjeweit.
Translating a non-human-centred worldview into artistic practice
What happens when the more-than-human world is not considered a mere resource to serve human needs, but a collaborator and participant in creative processes?
In a new article on our blog, Jule Kurbjeweit explores how such a different philosophical stance can find expression in artistic production, looking at the work of Dutch artist Sanne Vaassen in particular.
Jule has recently joined the VILLA VILLA team as a project manager and contributing writer to the blog.
You can find the article "Co-creating with Nature. Translating a non-human-centred worldview into artistic practice" on the resources page of our website or via the link here. Enjoy the read!

Environmental Sustainability Consultancy Services
As environmental sustainability consultants, we help cultural organisations to reduce their environmental impact and develop medium and long-term objectives towards carbon neutrality.
We support institutions in developing a comprehensive and holistic ecological vision, starting by assessing their current efforts and actions, and helping them identify the next steps towards sustainable operations.
Our team has developed a number of tools to enable cultural institutions, museums and not-for-profit arts organisations to meet the challenges and opportunities of sustainable working practices.
Environmental Sustainability Strategy for PADA
We are working with Lisbon-based artist studios and gallery PADA to minimise their impact and create a sustainable environment for the production and presentation of artworks.
Amongst other things, we wrote an environmental sustainability strategy and action plan that includes immediate actions to start reducing their carbon emissions and next steps that will require further research and development.
This document provides short and medium term objectives to implement sustainability in all PADA’s programmes and buildings.
Immediate actions and next steps include carbon reduction in regards to energy, waste, digital / IT, events, garden, transport and exhibitions among the gallery and art residency.
